The Williamsburg complex consists of nine buildings that featured various complicated design elements where water intrusion had occurred. These elements ranged from elevated walkways with top mounted guardrails and elevated decks to flat roofs, second floor turrets and articulated building massing.

In conjunction with addressing water intrusion issues, the Williamsburg Homeowners' Association opted to improve the look of the complex buildings when a full re-clad was scheduled. The complex buildings were repetitive, but consisted of several distinctive designs, which made the selection of new materials and colors essential.
